July 26, 2024 - Celebrate Cuba's Rebellion Day

Toronto: Celebrating July 26, Cuba's Rebellion Day Dedicated to the Heroic People of Palestine!

Dear Sisters/Brothers;
We would like to invite you to a Celebration of the 71st Anniversary of July 26, Cuba's Rebellion Day, which we are dedicating to the heroic people of Palestine! (please share the attached flyer)

Since 2005, we have proudly sponsored a Celebration of July 26, Cuba’s Rebellion Day, with a cultural/political program dedicated each year to an outstanding personality from Vilma Espin to Juan Almeida Bosque to Iroel Sanches to Dudley Laws!
This year's anniversary is taking place at a time when the Cuban Revolution is facing the surgically precise imposition of the genocidal U.S. economic, financial and trade blockade of Cuba, combined with the inclusion of Cuba on the arbitrary State Department list of countries that it considers to be "state sponsors of terrorism", which has brought about a very difficult situation for the Cuban people.

In the meantime the ugly heads of the terrorists that to this date have killed 3478 Cubans and permanently maimed 2099, who are operating out of the U.S. territory with the full support of the U.S. government, have received a free pass to do as they wish especially in Miami with all kinds of social media assisting them! And they dare to announce, on social media, attempts to disrupt this year's celebration of July 26. We will not be intimidated as we are exercising our very legitimate right to gather, celebrate, get together and learn from each other.

The heroic people of Palestine who have endured the daily butchery and destruction of anything resembling life by the Zionist Apartheid state of Israel show us all that sovereignty and liberation from the tentacles of colonialism and dependency have a price. And the conquests of the Cuban Revolution and its glorious acts of internationalist solidarity—like the presence of some 1000 Palestinian youth studying medicine on scholarships in Cuba—are invaluable.
The cultural part of our program is a reminder that no amount of desensitising of humanity by the dog-eat-dog cultural values of the imperialist system and its willful blindness and complicity in the face of the ongoing genocide in Gaza/Palestine can deprive us of our humanity; and we are not amongst the indifferent!
The political program is a space where the achievements and challenges of Cuba, as well as those of the Palestinian people will be shared; so that we all become educated for educating others in order to take a just stand. (please see attachment on Mask Off Maersk campaign flyer)
We hope to see you in person @ 06:30pm, Friday July 26, Trinity St. Paul's United Church- 427 Bloor St. W, and ask you to please share with your contact our message of solidarity and celebration for Cuba’s Rebellion Day.
